Fresh Express is a year-round program operated by Central Pennsylvania Food Bank that distributes fruits & vegetables, milk, and eggs to low-income families each month.
Fresh Express occurs on the 4th Friday of each month at Park Elementary School from 3:30 – 5:30 pm.
School Supply Drives
Collects school supplies that we donate to Columbia Borough School District, Columbia Head Start, and Our Lady of the Angels. The drive occurs in the summer on the third Saturday of the month and at National Night Out (first Tuesday in August) at Glatfelter Field. Kleen-Rite has generously donated the trailer we use to collect the supplies. Any financial contributions are used to purchase additional supplies (like tissues, hand sanitizer, calculator batteries, books, and clothing) to support the schools throughout the year.
Power Packs Project
Helps to feed over 140 families (on average) each week. In partnership with Columbia Church of God and over 35 volunteers, Columbia Life Network packs and distributes bags containing a recipe and all of the ingredients needed (and snacks) to families, so they can prepare nourishing meals over the weekend to ensure their kids are well-fed and ready to learn on Monday. Packing takes place at donated space from St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, and the packs are distributed to Park Elementary, Taylor Middle School, and Our Lady of the Angels.
Helps families in need after a fire in their home or apartment. After the American Red Cross initially assists, we then work with families to either extend their stay at a hotel and/or help with food, clothing, furniture, medication, etc., based on need.
